    eBay, where’s the education?

    Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Education Specialists trained by eBay, those originally trained to lecture at the eBay University and put on their own courses, were given ‘death by powerpoint’ materials that were primarily for the US site. The presentations were designed for the US site but gave information on the general basics of eBay selling just the same.

eBay niggles that made me see RED today!

    Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Further to yesterday’s post regarding illegal business seller terms and eBay’s lack of care for the protection of its buyers, allowing its Top Rated Sellers (TRS) to display these terms, I questioned how easy it would be for eBay to stop this practice.

eBay niggles that make my blood boil!

    Monday, January 11th, 2010

eBay Top Rated Sellers (TRS) have to maintain very high standards of customer service and have a fast despatch record. These are supposed to be the cream of eBay business sellers, yet all too often Anorak sees the phrase ‘I am not responsible for items lost in the post’, ‘I do not accept returns’ and ‘Refund on return less eBay and Paypal fees’

What the Eff is Social Media?

    Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Anorak’s usual web travels this week uncovered a very straight ‘John Bull’ answer to the title question and why you should be using Social Media such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Bebo etc.  Recent comments from people I’ve met include, ‘I wouldn’t know where to start’  ‘I’ve got enough to do as it is’  ‘You’ve lost me already’ & ‘I […]

eBay’s Deal of the Day, Have You Saved?

    Monday, June 1st, 2009

For anyone who hasn’t noticed the new orange blob at the top of the eBay pages over the last couple of weeks,  Anorak will explain. eBay’s new Deal of the Day changes at 10am each day giving a product at an amazing discount. Anorak’s OH had a pair of Puma Trainers P&P free for £20 that should have been […]

A Rather Royal eBayer … The Duchess of Cornwall

    Sunday, May 31st, 2009

While reading the usual eBay related news this morning, Anorak found this article in the Daily Mail Online about The Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker Bowles buying ‘knick knacks’ on eBay for her family.

The funniest listing for a while & 5 stars for communication!

    Friday, March 27th, 2009

Anorak came across this listing via a colleagues twitter feed, for sale on eBay is a red Rover car, the description is truthful pointing out any flaws, extremely funny and the communication via ‘ask seller a question’ (ASQ) is amazing and must get 5 stars when sold. The visitor counter is currently at over 50,000 and […]

For the love of TG Green Cornish Blue Pottery …

    Monday, March 16th, 2009

For lovers of the TG Green Cornish Blue Pottery, there’s news that it may be coming back home to Anorak’s village. The much sought after blue and white striped pottery can be found by collectors on eBay at a pretty price and was originally

eBay Global Buying Hub a new toy to spend on!

    Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Anorak’s been playing on eBay’s new Global Buying Hub and I can see it costing me more time & money because it makes it so easy to find those must have items from the 16 eBay marketplaces around the world all in one place

Why did Paypal hold my money?

    Thursday, February 5th, 2009

I’ve been asked why some sellers are having their payments put onhold by Paypal after selling on eBay in certain ‘high risk categories. I’ve found
